Le Tour and the Joy of Cycling

In 2010, I had the pleasure of creating a series of fine art silkscreen prints that aimed to convey my deep love for cycling, particularly centered around the renowned cycling race the Tour de France. Inspired by the whimsical fans, who often don costumes and parade alongside the dedicated riders, I sought to capture the exuberant spirit and unbridled joy of cycling.

As an artist and cycling enthusiast, I have been fascinated by the electric atmosphere that surrounds the Tour de France. The energy in the air is palpable, with spectators showing their support in the most imaginative costumes and other creative ways.

Creating this series of silkscreen prints allowed me to explore the intersection of cycling and art, two worlds that I hold dear. The silkscreen technique, with its bold and layered colors, proved to be the perfect medium to convey the dynamic scenes of the Tour de France and the colors that represent its various race stages.

Ultimately, this series of fine art silkscreen prints serves as a visual tribute to the Tour de France and its devoted fans. By capturing the whimsy, joy, and camaraderie that course through the veins of this spectacular event, I hope to inspire others to embrace the beauty of cycling and to find their own sources of unfiltered joy.
